These professionals are trained in providing comprehensive eye & vision care which includes refraction & dispensing, diagnosing and managing ocular problems and rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system. They are trained to determine the refractive errors and suggest appropriate correction. They deal with eye testing, diagnose visual problems, optometrist counselling, color blindness, hereditary vision defects, prescribing spectacles and suggest eye exercise.
eligibility for admission is as per paramedical board(GOK) norms as amended from time to time
The candidates who have completed pre-university (10+2) examinations with sciences subjects PCB, PCMB, CBZ as the major subjects will be admitted to 2nd year diploma course.
a) PUC qualified candidates-02 years.
b) SSLC qualified candidates -03 years.
Minimum age of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year of admission.
Career opportunities are available in Indian Red Cross society, Indian Nursing Council, State Nursing Council, all hospitals, AIIMS, Fortis and Orphanage and with corporate CSR activities etc.
