Medical laboratory technology is an integral part of the medical care system. Clinical laboratory testing is crucial to detecting and diagnosing disease. Medical laboratory personnel work behind in the scenes, running the tests to help doctors diagnose illnesses and make decisions about patient treatments. These technicians examine and analyse body fluids, tissues and cells. They look for bacteria, parasites and other micro organisms.
