DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Medical laboratory technology is an integral part of the medical care system. Clinical laboratory testing is crucial to detecting and diagnosing disease. Medical laboratory personnel work behind in the scenes, running the tests to help doctors diagnose illnesses and make decisions about patient treatments. These technicians examine and analyse body fluids, tissues and cells. They look for bacteria, parasites and other micro organisms. People in this field use automated equipment and sophisticated instruments capable of performing a number of tests simultaneously.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

a) The candidates who have completed pre-university (10+12) examination with science subjects PCB, PCMB, CBZ as the major subjects will be admitted to 2nd year diploma course.

b) The candidates who have completed SSLC or equivalent examination will be admitted to 1st year diploma course.

DURATION OF COURSE

a) PUC qualified candidates-02 years.
b) SSLC qualified candidates -03 years.

AGE

Minimum age of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year of admission.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Medical technologists in pathology section in hospitals, private pathology laboratories and blood bank, quality control personnel in diagnostic companies, sales personal for diagnostic instruments and equipment’s, research assistants in clinical research organization and can be self-employed.
